The NetJets Carbon Offset Program provides NetJets Owners the opportunity to mitigate the unavoidable impacts from flying today by voluntarily offsetting the emissions from their NetJets flights. The program enables the greenhouse gases emitted during the flight and other activities to be offset by investing in projects that remove the equivalent amount of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
The NetJets Carbon Offset Program is comprised of a set of carefully reviewed and closely monitored carbon offset projects that will provide verified greenhouse gas reductions. NetJets purchased offsets from 3Degrees*, an industry-leading vendor in the U.S.. The projects have been carefully selected, with the involvement of outside environmental experts, to provide authentic and verifiable emissions reductions. The projects also pass tests for "additionality" which means that each project is not common practice, goes beyond “business as usual,” and exceeds regulatory requirements. "Additionality" can also mean the project depended on revenue from offset sales to achieve financial viability. Each project has also been carefully reviewed to be certain that the prices for these offsets represent a good value.
NetJets U.S. Owners who are interested in offsetting the carbon emissions from their NetJets flights can purchase carbon offsets based on the share size(s) and aircraft type(s) that they own with us. This program is completely voluntarily. Owners can choose to sign up or discontinue their participation at any time. NetJets will make no profit from this effort; we are providing this opportunity as a service to interested Owners. Additionally, Marquis Jet Partners is making the NetJets Carbon offset portfolio available to Marquis Jet Card Owners.
