Industry Leader Continues Growth in Response to Increased Demand for Fractional Shares
WOODBRIDGE, NJ – February 13, 2006 – NetJets Aviation announced today that it will hire 450 pilots in 2006 -- an increase of 19% over its current pilot staff. The new pilots will meet the increased demands of its fractional aircraft business and will operate the NetJets Aviation fleet of over 420 aircraft to destinations throughout the United States and abroad. Last year, NetJets aircraft flew more than 300,000 flights to over 140 countries.
“NetJets employs the world's best pilots,” said Gary Hart, vice president flight operations and director of operations for NetJets. “We are looking for dynamic individuals who have the technical skills and training necessary to join our growing team.”
NetJets selection, training, and safety programs for pilots set the benchmark in the aviation industry. NetJets owners benefit from pilots with an average of over 9,000 hours of flight experience each (well above industry averages). There are always two captain qualified pilots on each flight. Pilots are also required to participate in continuous training and simulator exercises.
In addition to industry leading safety practices and training, NetJets pilots receive a generous compensation and benefits package. In 2005, NetJets Aviation announced a new labor agreement resulting in salaries among the highest in the industry.
The new pilots will have home bases at Columbus International Airport (OH), Teterboro Airport (NJ), West Palm Beach International Airport (FL), Los Angeles International Airport (CA), and Dallas Love Field (TX).
