JOCKEYS CONTINUE CHARITABLE DONATIONS AS NETJETS® SPONSORS FINAL TRIPLE CROWN RACE
Thoroughbred Charities Benefit From Innovative Promotion

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (June 6, 2008) – Following  successful Kentucky Derby Day and Preakness promotions facilitated by NetJets Inc., Jockeys John Velazquez and Edgar Prado today presented four Thoroughbred industry charities with donations on behalf of The Jockeys’ Guild. This marks the completion of an innovative Triple Crown collaboration facilitated by NetJets Inc. In all three Triple Crown Races the NetJets logo was worn by the riders as part of this promotion.

Preakness jockeys donated their NetJets sponsorship money to The Jockey Club Foundation and the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. Eleven riders wore the NetJets logo at the Preakness and donated $7,500 each .This amount combined with a NetJets contribution netted $92,000 that was divided between both organizations.

"NetJets is honored to see our Preakness sponsorship funding donated to The Jockey Club Foundation and the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation,” said Richard T. Santulli, chairman and CEO of NetJets. “We are proud to continue our sponsorship through the Triple Crown and once again support the jockeys and the two worthy organizations they have selected for the Belmont Stakes.”

“Richard and Peggy Santulli have been very generous supporters of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and other Thoroughbred charities for many years,” said Edward L. Bowen, president of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. “We are immensely grateful for their charitable efforts which will help horses and people in our industry. We are also very thankful to the Jockeys Guild and the riders who have donated to these charities in recent weeks.”

The Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation is the nation’s leading source of private funding for equine medical research. The Jockey Club Foundation provides financial assistance to needy members of the Thoroughbred industry and their families.

"For more than 20 years, the Thoroughbred industry has found invaluable support in NetJets and its chairman and CEO, Richard T. Santulli,” said John Velazquez, chairman of the Jockey’s Guild. “They are true partners to our sport and to our jockeys. We are especially grateful to them this year for their leadership throughout the Triple Crown."

For the Belmont Stakes, the Jockeys Guild selected the Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. and the Backstretch Employee Service Team (B.E.S.T.) as joint beneficiaries of their sponsorship money. Belmont Child Care Association maintains Anna House which is located at Belmont Park and is the provider of early childhood education to the children of the families working at the NYRA racetracks. BEST provides multiple, on-site health and human services to support workers in the barn areas of Saratoga, Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetracks.

“The vast majority of backstretch employees are families with young children,” said Donna Chenkin, Executive Director of the Belmont Child Care Association that sustains Anna House. “This support is crucial to our ability to provide quality and affordable childcare and a sanctuary of play and learning for these children.”

“Behind every race are the men and women who work tirelessly and unassumingly to train, clean, groom and feed the horses,” said Cate Dolan, President, Backstretch Employee Service Team (B.E.S.T.). “B.E.S.T. provides the care that keeps these workers healthy. Recognizing them with this gift shines the light on their important work and significant role in our industry. B.E.S.T. thanks the jockeys, NetJets and Mr. Santulli for their support.”

At the Kentucky Derby, the NetJets collaboration raised $500,000 to benefit the NTRA Charities - Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. NetJets, the worldwide leader in private aviation, contributed $200,000 to the donation on behalf of the 20 jockeys participating in Kentucky Derby 134 and made an additional contribution of $100,000.  Richard T. Santulli, chairman and CEO of NetJets, made a personal donation of $100,000, as did Bill Casner, owner of WinStar Farm and chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.

About Anna House
The Belmont Child Care Association is a not-for-profit-corporation established in December 1998 to create an on-site child care center, Anna House, at Belmont Park for the working families of New York racing. Families in New York's horse racing industry face many challenges. Parents start their workday before sunrise, hours before local childcare centers are open. Also, given the nature of the industry, most parents must arrange for childcare seven days a week. Moreover, New York horse racing is unique in that year-round racing creates a need for year-round childcare. The BCCA is dedicated to helping parents meet these challenges by sustaining a childcare center that will accommodate their demanding work schedules. Due to its size, year-round nature, and high quality care, as required by both New York State and the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Anna House is the first of its kind at a major American racetrack. For more information visit www.belmontchildcare.org.

About B.E.S.T.
B.E.S.T. (Backstretch Employee Service Team) fulfills its motto,“Taking care of the people who take care of the horses,” by providing comprehensive health and human services to backstretch workers at Belmont Park, Aqueduct and Saratoga racecourses. B.E.S.T. is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions to B.E.S.T. are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. For more information visit www.bestbackstretch.com.
