Highest Safety Standards
For NetJets, the safety of our Owners and their guests is paramount and the foundation for everything we do. It is the rationale behind the superior technology in our planes and our strict pilot training schedule. It is also the reason we have the most stringent maintenance and operating procedures in the industry. And as a Berkshire Hathaway company, we have the commitment and the resources to be the safest and most secure private aviation company in the world. When it comes to safety we never compromise.

NetJets Pilots
Our pilots are the most experienced and well trained in the industry, averaging 7,500 hours of flight experience each, and possessing extraordinary qualifications. Even so, we require them to return two times per year for simulator training. In fact, on every NetJets flight both pilots are FAA type-rated as captain*. And each pilot flies only one type of aircraft, with universally identical cockpits. This ensures that, when a pilot reaches for a particular control, it is always at the same place, dramatically reducing the likelihood of error.

Aircraft
As the largest buyer of private jets, we ensure that every aircraft meets our acceptance standards before they are placed into operation. We buy the best aircraft and equip each new jet with the latest state-of-the-art safety devices such as the Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) and the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System II (TCAS II).

Operations
Safety starts long before takeoff. Before every flight, our Operations experts including FAA-licensed Dispatchers and FAA-approved Meteorologists go over everything, from aircraft capabilities and airport conditions to weather conditions and baggage loads. No NetJets flight takes off unless both the pilot-in-command and the dispatcher independently verify all flight plans and computations. This dual-release requirement means that two highly trained professionals must both agree that the flight can be accomplished without compromising safety.

Maintenance
All maintenance inspections conducted on NetJets aircraft meet or exceed the provisions for fractional aircraft providers specified by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA).

All NetJets aircraft are subject to a carefully managed maintenance regimen handled by the professionals who know them best: the original equipment manufacturers and their authorized support facilities. And of course, we work only with manufacturers that meet our very high standards for maintenance.

Security
NetJets constantly works with fixed base operators (FBO), local airport authorities, law enforcement officials, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) security officials to determine if additional security measures are necessary to ensure Owners peace of mind. NetJets also maintains ongoing agreements with ASI Group (ASI), the International Security Associates (ISA), and Jeppesen to provide a variety of services including risk and threat assessments for overseas locations and global monitoring.

*Standards listed are for the NetJets U.S. program.
