How It Works

When you purchase a NetJets LeaseTM, you lease time on a specific serial-numbered aircraft in the NetJets U.S. fleet. You enjoy all the same advantages of being a NetJets ShareTM Owner, without owning the asset.

A NetJets Lease is ideal for anyone who flies 50 or more hours per year and wants the financial flexibility afforded by aircraft leasing versus aircraft ownership.

Lease time on a NetJets aircraft

The same flight services of owning a NetJets Share™ – without the upfront capital investment.

Buy as much as you need

Lease sizes start at 50 annual flight hours and increase in 25-hour increments, which enables you to lease an interest with the amount of flight time that best meets your needs.

Access an entire fleet

If your aircraft type doesn’t suit you for a particular trip, you may request an exchange to another aircraft type in the NetJets fleet to better satisfy your specific trip requirements. Or if you’re traveling within Europe, you can take advantage of the inter-program exchange with NetJets Europe.1

Travel on your own terms

  • Enjoy guaranteed aircraft availability with as little as four to six hours’ notice, depending on aircraft type2
  • Fly on your schedule
  • Choose from many more airports than commercial carriers

Payment structure

Pricing is based on aircraft type, flight hours per year, and length of term you choose. Fixed-term leases range from 24 to 60 months.

  • Initial deposit – equivalent to four months of lease payments and management fees.
  • Monthly lease fee – a guaranteed monthly fixed-rate payment.
  • Monthly management fee – covers indirect operating costs such as pilot salaries, training, hangar use, liability insurance, and Owner Services support.
  • Occupied hourly fee – covers direct operating costs such as maintenance, landing fees, and standard fuel. You are billed as you fly and only for occupied flight hours – wheels up to wheels down – plus six minutes of taxi time at the beginning and end of each flight.
  • Other fees – include hourly fuel fee, fuel tax surcharge, Federal Excise Tax (if applicable),  international fees (as applicable), and ground transportation, if requested.

The NetJets Differences

NetJets is distinct from other private jet companies in countless ways – here are three of them.

Highest safety standards

Highest safety standards

The safety of our Owners and their guests is paramount and the foundation for everything we do. In fact, NetJets sets the standard for the industry. For instance, most recently in March, 2013 NetJets announced obtaining Level IV of the FAA's safety management system (SMS) pilot program. NetJets is the first and only fractional operator and fixed wing Part 135 operator to achieve this level of safety certification. NetJets also has the most stringent maintenance and operational procedures. We perform exhaustive security checks before every flight. And, we buy only the best aircraft equipped with the most advanced safety equipment.

Most experience

Most experience

NetJets manages over 300,000 flights annually to more than 170 countries.  Not only did we invent the fractional aircraft ownership industry, but also we’ve flown more hours than all other private aviation companies combined.

The Fine Print

Essential details you should know.

1 Flying within Europe

Owners can fly to Europe via NetJets or commercial airline, then request the use of a NetJets Europe aircraft for flights throughout the European continent. When exchanging to aircraft in the NetJets Europe program, flight hours are based on predetermined inter-program exchange rates (adjusted monthly based on the currency exchange rate) between the NetJets U.S. aircraft type for which an Owner has a NetJets share, lease, or card and the NetJets Europe aircraft type requested. Given the higher cost of operating in Europe, the inter-program rates for exchanging to a NetJets Europe aircraft are higher than those for comparable aircraft exchange within the NetJets U.S. program.

2 Peak periods

More notice is required for flights on the designated Peak Period Days – days that typically surround holidays and special events when the anticipated demand for NetJets aircraft is particularly high. NetJets Lease Owners have no more than 10 Peak Period Days per year which require 48 hours advance booking notice.

3 Save time versus commercial

Flight times are estimates based on four passengers flying at high speed cruise and include 0.2 hours for taxi time. Actual flight times may vary depending on aircraft type, passenger load, cruise speed, routing, weather conditions, and passenger load. The NetJets recommended arrival time of 15 minutes prior to departure is also included in the flight time estimates.

Commercial flight times are estimated based upon scheduled commercial airline service and include flight time, stopovers where applicable, FAA-requested arrival time of 90 minutes prior to departure when checking baggage, and 30 minutes post flight for baggage claim. Commercial flight times are based on the average flight time and available routes and schedules posted on www.travelocity.com.

NetJets’ recommended arrival time for international trips is 30 minutes prior to departure, which is also included in the flight time estimate above.
