- NetJets Flight Attendant: Shannon Saxe
Meet Shannon Saxe
One of four children, Shannon Saxe was raised by a single mother who owned a dance studio. Traveling was not really possible; they rarely left the state of Georgia. Shannon, to keep from fighting with her brothers, accompanied her mother to the studio every day. It was there that Shannon watched people bring in their kids from all over the globe. This fed her desire to see the world. From a young age, Shannon recognized that she didn’t want to be a dancer, but she knew she wanted to see the world and meet interesting people from all cultures. And she did just that.
“It was a natural fit to become a flight attendant. I loved flying, traveling, and adventure. I wanted to make my mom proud, see the world, and understand and respect all cultures.”
Shannon Saxe, Flight Attendant
Embracing Global Travel
When Shannon worked for the sultan of Brunei, he was the most affluent man in the entire world. She often traveled with the royal family and the children’s adult personal companions, who quickly became Shannon’s friends. This gave her experience in global travel while working for the prime minister of Lebanon. She remembers staying the night in Beirut under the watchful eye of her bodyguard from the Rhodesian Special Air Service.
