NetJets is proud to support a number of illustrious international art fairs.

The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) is a prestigious and internationally renowned organisation of fine art, antiques and design. There are three associated events each year: two are held in New York and one in Maastricht, Netherlands. This year, the latter event will take place on Saturday 7 March – 15 March. Get in touch for more details about the event and how to attend. Make an enquiry to find out more.

Two other art fairs to which we are intrinsically linked and highly recommend to our Owners and readers are Frieze London and Masterpiece. The former is an international contemporary art fair that takes place in Regent’s Park every October (8-11 in 2020). Organised by the founders of the art magazine by the same name, it features more than 170 contemporary art galleries and a number of specifically commissioned original projects.
The second fair, Masterpiece (25 June – 1 July), is aimed mostly at collectors who can view and buy the finest works of art, design, furniture and jeweller from antiquity to the present day, although admirers and enthusiasts are very welcome.

Art Basel is a world-leading art show that connects galleries, collectors, artists and enthusiasts, ranging from established household names to contemporary pioneers. The fair is a driving force in supporting the role galleries play in nurturing the careers of artists, and one that we are proud to have been part of for over 19 years.

Alternative Art

The event looks out to a range of international cities and works in collaboration with local establishments and institutions to further a selection of cultural goals and offerings. It places an ever-growing emphasis on crowdfunding alternative art events and projects for a range of international communities. In addition, it funds and supports local creatives through a range of grants, mentoring programmes and opportunities for travel, inspiration and learning.

Founded in 1970

By Swizz gallerists Ernst Beyeler, Trudi Bruckner and Balz Hilt, Art Basel has expanded and developed in both size and function every year since. Come 2019, and it is considered as so much more than a popular art exhibition.

A unique experience

In terms of its impact on the international art community, there aren’t many comparable events worldwide. It is an experience not only for art aficionados, but for anyone interested in innovation, history and culture. It’s a place of inspiration and a must-see for anyone looking to expand their horizons.

A true international affair

Art Basel locations

While the event was established in the titular Swiss city, as a true international affair it now hosts three renowned annual events across the globe.

Basel, Switzerland – the largest and most prestigious of the three locations, the Basel event saw over 95,000 attendees in 2017. Thaddaeus Ropac, a renowned international gallerist, said of last year’s Basel event: ‘It’s hard to imagine that Art Basel could grow stronger every year, but it does just that.’

Miami Beach, Florida, United States – Established in 2002, last year this location drew an attendance of 83,000 people, featuring artists spanning six continents with an extra and welcome spotlight on work from the African diaspora.

Hong Kong – The most recent of the three, it was established in 2013. Despite its youth, it still saw over 80,000 attendees last year.

Benefits for NetJets Owners

A benefit of this global partnership is that NetJets Owners are given a more intimate connection with artists and art dealers, as well as access to the special- invitation preview which takes place days before the show is open to the general public. This happens via complimentary, invitation-only passes to Art Basel in Miami Beach and Basel, Switzerland.

Every year, NetJets also creates a six-day event at the events in Basel and Miami Beach with a VIP lounge, within the Collector’s Area, providing owners with hospitality throughout the week. This invitation-only escape is an on-site reprieve from the busy exhibition, where guests can relax while enjoying a unique culinary experience.
