Blue Skies

A More Environmentally Friendly Way to Fly

In 2008, we launched Blue Skies by NetJets to offer our Owners a more environmentally friendly way to fly. We are proud for being carbon neutral since 2012 and for being one of the first aviation companies to have launched this type of programme, working only with the highest quality projects. We are thrilled to continue offering this programme for current and new Owners and encourage all Owners to enrol.

Review Our

Carbon Offset Programme

By joining Blue Skies, participating Owners will purchase an equivalent amount of carbon offsets to the carbon footprint of their annual flight hours—calculated by multiplying the carbon offset hourly rate for their aircraft type by total share size. Because of our partnership with ClimateCare, your Blue Skies contribution goes directly toward supporting projects chosen by NetJets that reduce global CO2 emissions and ultimately improve lives.
Carbon Offset Hourly Rates
Example: 50-hour Citation Latitude Share
Carbon offset hourly rate for Latitude = €28/hour
€28/hour x 50 hours = €1,400.00 total invoice for yearly voluntary carbon offsets

Based on carbon fuel burn, the following chart shows our carbon offset hourly rates by aircraft:
Aircraft/Hour Rate
Phenom 300
Citation XLS
Citation Latitude
Challenger 350
Hawker 750/800
Falcon 2000
Gulfstream 550
Global 6000

What is ClimateCare?

These certified climate action projects are making measurable, verified emissions reductions by protecting forests and improving clean cooking practices within communities. Each project hosts positive environmental and high social impacts, delivering against several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Over the course of the Blue Skies programme, our Owners’ participation has contributed to incredible results.

Designed for efficiency, burn stoves significantly reduce toxic smoke exposure in the home, saving lives, cutting CO2 emissions and reducing household expenses. Using 45% less charcoal, families save on disposable household income as well as time collecting fuel. The stoves are manufactured in a state-of-the-art solar-powered factory in Nairobi, Kenya, which directly employs over 100 people and offers equal opportunities to women in a traditionally male industry.

This reforestation project is supporting alternative land use practices away from traditional, unsustainable cattle grazing. By replanting on over 20,000 hectares of degraded land, the project is reducing GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, providing work and income via profitable and sustainable timber production, and renewing biodiversity to the ecosystem.

Household biogas digesters are turning animal waste into energy for communities across Hainan province in China. The waste management systems repurpose potent GHG emissions to provide long-term access to a source of renewable, clean fuel for cooking and heating. It is reducing exposure to disease and infection by improving sanitation, as well as reducing expenditure on traditional fuel sources such as coal.
