Blue Skies

A More Environmentally Friendly Way to Fly

In 2008, we launched Blue Skies by NetJets to offer our Owners a more environmentally friendly way to fly. We are proud for being carbon neutral since 2012 and for being one of the first aviation companies to have launched this type of programme, working only with the highest quality projects. We are thrilled to continue offering this programme for current and new Owners and encourage all Owners to enrol.

Review Our

Carbon Offset Program

By joining Blue Skies, participating Owners will purchase an equivalent amount of carbon offsets to the carbon footprint of their annual flight hours—calculated by multiplying the carbon offset hourly rate for their aircraft type by total share size. Because of our partnership with ClimateCare, your Blue Skies contribution goes directly toward supporting projects chosen by NetJets that reduce global CO2 emissions and ultimately improve lives.
Carbon Offset Hourly Rates
Example: 50-hour Citation Latitude Share
Carbon offset hourly rate for Latitude = €28/hour
€28/hour x 50 hours = €1,400.00 total invoice for yearly voluntary carbon offsets

Based on carbon fuel burn, the following chart shows our carbon offset hourly rates by aircraft:
Aircraft/Hour Rate
Phenom 300
Citation XLS
Citation Latitude
Challenger 350
Hawker 750/800
Falcon 2000
Gulfstream 550
Global 6000

These specific projects were selected by region to ensure a local impact to our Owners and their communities. In only a few years, our Owners participation has led to incredible results.

Our Owners are supporting a 100% Gold Standard portfolio, with multiple projects across Africa, Asia and South America. These certified climate action projects are making measurable, verifiable emission reductions by protecting forests, scaling up renewable energy distribution, and improving clean cooking technologies and access to safe water within communities. Each project hosts positive environmental and high-social impacts, delivering against a number of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.

This Renewable Wind project in Turkey is displacing GHG emissions from fossil fuel power plants, feeding electricity generation from wind power into the national grid. It supports the country to meet its growing energy demand through sustainable, low carbon technology. It helps to improve energy security and local air quality, as well as providing employment in the construction and maintenance phases of the project.

This Fuel Switch project works with small enterprise ceramic manufacturers in Brazil, supporting them to facilitate a switch from unsustainable fuel resources to renewable biomass. Using readily available biomass, such as nut shells and coconut husks to fuel the ceramic kilns, reduces the need for local deforestation and protects areas of the Amazon Rainforest—a source of carbon sequestration.
