NetJets + The Homeless Families Foundation
A Partnership to End Child Homelessness
Every year approximately 1,200 families and 3,000 children are homeless in Columbus.1 Recently, NetJets strengthened its partnership with The Homeless Families Foundation (HFF), a local Columbus nonprofit organization, to help combat this issue.
HFF was founded in 1986 by community members who believe it is unacceptable for any child to be homeless. They work tirelessly to help families provide a self-sufficient, stable home for their children who can then become actively involved in their own education. NetJets values the work HFF does for the Columbus community and supports the fight against child homelessness by hosting a summer field trip event and by supporting HFF’s annual gala.
An Unforgettable
Aviation Field Trip
On June 24, NetJets welcomed children in grades K–8 from HFF’s Dowd Education Center for an unforgettable field-trip experience. In the NetJets hangar, the children toured aircraft, learned how aircraft are maintained, heard about the life of a pilot, visited with Columbus Airport Police k-9s, and more. The event has increased tremendously in size in its second year. In 2018, NetJets welcomed 10 children; this year, we welcomed 76—with hopes of reaching even more in the future.
“Our NetJets volunteers loved this event because it is very rewarding to give back to the community.”
