NETJETS + MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS MOTORSPORT

NEW PARTNERSHIP AND CAR LAUNCH TO KICK OFF THE 2018 FORMULA 1 SEASON
As a sponsor of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport team, we are excited to kick off the 2018 F1 race season by celebrating the launch of a new team car: the F1 W09 EQ Power+. At a special event on February 22, Mercedes will unveil its innovative design at the Silverstone Circuit. World-renowned drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will hit the track during a shakedown program followed by live online interviews with drivers and team officials.

Since the team came back to Formula 1 in 2010, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W09 EQ Power+ is the ninth car for Mercedes. (The “W09” in the name gives a nod to this.) This impressive car is powered by a performance hybrid system (“EQ Power+”) that shares the same classification as all future Mercedes-AMG performance hybrids. We are thrilled to take part in this major milestone for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport team, and we look forward to an exciting F1 season.

Optimizing the Formula 1 Race Schedule

With decades of hard-earned success in the sport, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport is the reigning Formula 1 World Champions. With an ever-expanding race calendar, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport has made it a priority to relieve the travel burden placed on their race drivers and team members. NetJets is delighted to provide the team with a practical solution for managing their logistical challenges—all while optimizing travel times and improving efficiency.

VALTTERI’S FIRST NETJETS EXPERIENCE

To kick off the new partnership, Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes’ race-winning Finnish driver, took his first NetJets flight from Nice to Budapest on an Embraer Phenom 300 to catch the Hungarian Grand Prix.

“We’ve always had a keen interest in Formula 1 racing, and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport is the pinnacle of that. NetJets gives the drivers and team engineers a competitive edge by giving them faster access to tracks like Baku and Spa at a fraction of the cost of whole aircraft ownership. That’s a big plus in an industry where speed and efficiency matter.”
