Accendo Cellars

Accendo—the Latin verb that means to inflame or to arouse—perfectly embodies the bold, creative, and opulent wines of the Araujo family’s latest endeavor in winemaking.

As stewards of the historic Eisele Vineyard for the last quarter of a century, Bart and Daphne Araujo are longstanding and esteemed members of the Napa Wine Valley community. Following their sale of Araujo Estate to the owner of Château Latour, they brought their wealth of experience and passion to Accendo Cellars, the new winegrowing venture they founded in 2013 with the next generation of the Araujo family, Jaime Araujo Bézian and Greg Araujo.

Accendo Cellars is a collaborative winemaking venture that evokes the iconic Napa Valley blended Cabernets of the 1950s, '60s and '70s that were sourced from multiple vineyards throughout Napa Valley. This paradigm defines Accendo Cellars’ winemaking: to produce blended multilayered cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc wines sourced from grapes from some of the finest vineyard sites and terroir in Napa Valley. The results are exquisite blends that evoke the diversity, complexity, and richness of Napa Valley’s unique terroir and history.

Accendo Cellars is located on the picturesque Wheeler Farms in St. Helena—the heart and soul of Napa Valley. When guests arrive at Accendo, they are greeted by lush garden beds that surround the brand-new, state-of-the-art winery. The garden beds evoke the agricultural diversity of Wheeler Farms that is the foundation of Accendo’s mission. The modern, highly functional wood and stone winery complex features a homelike hospitality space with a large stone fireplace, open kitchen, and expansive outdoor patio. With vistas of Napa Valley at every turn, the hospitality space is the perfect setting to relax and taste Accendo’s elegant wines.
