COVID-19 Response Plan

Safety is, and always will be, our top priority
Note: This content is monitored daily and updated as needed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a constantly changing landscape at NetJets, and we are taking all necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of the virus.

We’re completing hundreds of flights every day, making it absolutely paramount that we’re keeping our Owners and our employees safe. And while there are obvious health benefits inherent to private aviation, our teams are also working diligently to leverage the full resources of a company of our scale and financial strength.

Our COVID-19 Joint Response Team meets daily to discuss relevant operational information, provide guidance to our staff, and make updates to our COVID-19 Response Plan. This website and our secure Owner Portal provide a wealth of information about our response to the pandemic and are updated regularly. Below are the precautions we are taking today.

NetJets will follow the guidance of the U.S. Department of State, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) to prohibit operations to locations it deems unsafe.

Owner Services Teams will evaluate all flight details, request some information about health history in relation to COVID-19, and ask for additional information concerning previous or future travel plans to provide the best-tailored travel advice. As an additional safeguard to all on board, crewmembers will review pre-screening details from Owner Services prior to boarding to ensure particulars have not changed.

While national airspace remains open to both commercial and private aviation, there are varying levels of response to COVID-19 from state and local governments across the country. We suggest that Owners understand the various implications before traveling, such as recommended or required self-quarantines and facial coverings. Your Owner Services Team is able to provide some assistance about the various requirements. It is important to note some states are requiring previous travel documentation upon arrival.

Travel will be allowed on a case-by-case basis following a proper risk assessment by the vice president of flight operations and vice president of safety. Nonessential travel should be avoided for the following countries:
  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • Singapore
  • South Korea
  • European countries:
    • Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Vatican City
  • Canada: Non-essential flights are not permitted. Your Owner Services Team will review details with you prior to booking
  • Mexico: We are monitoring potential changes closely but at this time are conducting normal operations

  • In accordance with government directives, travel coming from portions of Europe will be prohibited for non-U.S. citizens and any non-lawful permanent resident of the United States
  • The restrictions apply to those who have been in the following countries 14 days before their planned arrival in the U.S. The countries affected include: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom
  • The ban does not apply to U.S. citizens returning home, nor to foreign nationals who are legal permanent residents of the U.S. Also exempted are foreign nationals who are: married to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents; parents and guardians of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents aged under 21; brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, providing both are unmarried and under 21; and children or foster children of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents

Through our partnership with MedAire®, our Owners, staff, and operations have access to expert medical advice 24/7

NetJets and our pilots’ union, the NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP), have partnered with New Jersey-based Quest Diagnostics® to make COVID-19 virus testing available to our employees at no cost to them. We are aiming to test 100% of our crewmembers initially and will be offering ongoing testing to anyone who travels to high-risk locations, has been exposed to COVID-19, or becomes symptomatic. Furthermore, we will be providing opportunities for employees to be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

The CDC recommends the use of face coverings to help prevent individuals who lack symptoms from spreading the virus to others. NetJets crewmembers and employees will wear coverings while performing duties in the presence of an Owner, which include, but are not limited to, greetings, safety briefings, and cabin service. Facial coverings must also be used by crewmembers and employees when required by local ordinances or businesses, such as FBOs. Because of limited supplies of facial coverings across the country, Owners and guests who prefer to wear them should bring their own

Amid this global pandemic, we are leveraging our vast infrastructure to implement a logistical strategy that keeps our crewmembers healthy and meets the new realities of this very challenging time.
  • To curtail the risk of exposure, the avoidance of handshakes between our crew, Owners, passengers, and any supplier is recommended
  • Our goal is to enable social distancing and drastically limit commercial travel for crewmembers. By clustering aircraft at base locations where we have a high concentration of crewmembers, we enable crew to report for duty and return home via their personal vehicle or a NetJets aircraft rather than by commercial airlines
  • Additionally, all crew travel is closely monitored; those exposed in any manner are prohibited from entering NetJets facilities and aircraft for 14 days
  • During stay-at-home orders, a work-from-home program was established for a vast majority of our office employees. For those who need to report to the office to complete their duties, and as all employees return via a phased approach, we have taken extra steps to mitigate risks with additional disinfecting methods and increased spatial distance
  • We encourage everyone to remove themselves from duty to protect those around them. All employees, including our pilots and flight attendants, know that they do not need to worry about their paycheck if they require quarantine and/or medical attention due to a COVID-19 diagnosis

Across our network, hundreds of NetJets aircraft are going through our multi-tiered cleaning and disinfecting program in accordance with the guidelines of the CDC and the WHO. This helps us ensure a clean and comfortable cabin for each flight.

Daily Cleaning and Disinfecting:
  • For post-flight and pre-flight cleanings, our crewmembers use disinfectant-grade products that are EPA-approved and effective at killing COVID-19
  • Additionally, deep cabin cleanings are managed every night by the NetJets Maintenance Team
High-Risk Aircraft:
  • Any NetJets aircraft that return from a region identified by the CDC as high risk are immediately quarantined and professionally cleaned
Long-Term Protection:
  • NetJets treats its aircraft interiors with an antimicrobial barrier that provides lasting protection from various bacteria, germs, and viruses like COVID-19. Its durability comes from the molecular bond it forms with surfaces once cured; however, as a safeguard, NetJets reapplies the product every 90 days
